What it do Baybeee?!
By now you’ve seen the fire pics that make up the entirety of the website and you may have wondered how I styled myself for this promotional shoot.
Even if you didn’t, I’m still gonna tell you, so humor me lol.
But first I wanted to share my journey here and explain a little bit more about what this blog is and my idea behind it.
Some of you may remember, though most of you won’t, that I started a similar blog called “Kurvepreneur” in early 2018.
I have always loved Fashion and have been told frequently that I have a pretty good fashion sense, and my friends and family regularly come to me for fashion advice, so it just made sense to me to share that advice with other people.
However, as quick as that blog was launched, it failed. My posts went from 22 reads—which was great and I was happy to have people interested— to 2 reads, and both of them were from me. Insert sad crying face.
But I still decided to try my luck with this blogging stuff, and from that came the idea for BIG GRL, BIG WRLD.
I sat on the idea for months, reluctant to even try blogging again, but here I am, pushing out content and opening up again in ways I didn’t think I would with complete strangers who I hope will become my family through this platform.
So thank you for taking the time to visit this site, and for supporting BIG GRL, BIG WRLD in whatever capacity you have already.
Now, waterworks and sappiness aside, let’s get to the styling!
So the creative direction I was going for with this shoot was fun, flirty, free spirited, and glitzy— basically a launch party in a old softball field by myself!
I knew I wanted to do something really cute with the shirts because as much as I love a cute graphic tee, this wasn’t a basic typa party. I DIY’d this shirt from the screen printing all the way to the design of the shirt.
This is by far one of my favorite minimalist-ish outfits I’ve come up with so far.
I purchased these white jeans from the store formerly known as Conway, then changed to Fallas and then went out of business I think—yikes.
They are a size 22 so 2 sizes too big for me, but they run a little tight so I ended up doing pretty well with these. As you can see they were still a little big.
I paired these with the custom shirt I made— video coming soon to show you how I made these all at home— and then cut into a crop top with these little hanging bits.
I used a similar idea as the one from last year’s senior bar crawl–I didn’t take pictures this day, I was very very t’d if you know what I mean (wink, wink)– but I left out the back cut outs since I highkey didn’t have time, and I didn’t want it to be too much going on with the shirt.
I simply added some cute pink lace up chunky heels from Charlotte Russe— before they went out of business… and came back— and boom! A fit!
Thank you all again for being a part of this with me, and supporting my dream. I have high hopes for BIG GRL, BIG WRLD and I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
If you haven’t already, explore the site, leave me comments– I’d love to know what you beauties think of the site and my current posts– and make sure you follow me on my social media accounts!
