Hey Grl Hey!
Got a tropical vacation planned in the near future? Let’s pick some vacation outfits. Here’s what I wore in Jamaica!
Now depending on if I’ve posted my Red dress post yet, you all may or may not know that in April of this year myself and 14 of my sorority sisters took the Island of Jamaica by storm for our Deltaversary.
And as always we had to step with the fits as soon as we stepped foot on Jamaican soil. So here’s what I wore on our trip.
The first night we planned to have dinner at our resort in one of their restaurants, and since it was our first night there we wanted to have great photo ops before finishing up the rest of our trip so we all decided to wear Red, in line with our sorority colors.
Now it was hard for me to find a red dress that I really liked so I took to DIY’ing my outfit.
As for styling, since we were on the resort I really didn’t do much since I only really needed my room key. I paired it with these clear mule sandals that I got from a store in our mall in Champaign, IL called the shoe department.
Day two of the trip was an excursion day and we were going river rafting in the Martha Brae River. I knew I needed a swimsuit so I could get my pics and look tropical like a true Island gyal— insert hip roll. I got both my cover up and swimsuit from SHEIN.
The swimsuit came in a set with a dress but I had a vision for this outfit so I separated the dress from the suit and paired it with a brown coverup to get the look I thought would be the cutest with the scenery.
Day three was also an excursion day for me, and I tried my hand at snorkeling but unfortunately I will never be doing that again in my life because I am now traumatized from almost being sucked into the ocean ocean and choking on salt water. I figured we’d be doing a lot so I wore this one piece suit also from SHEIN.
We had dinner together that night and I was a little dressed out so instead of wearing the cute dress I literally bought to wear in Jamaica, I instead wore these Yellow pleated pants from Rainbow Shops—I should’ve got the pink too and they were under $10!— and this halter neck crop top I picked up from Zara a couple days before the trip.
Now Zara is famously known for excluding us big girls but I’ve found that depending on your body shape and the stretchy ness of their clothes you might be able to squeeze into some of their larges or find a few pieces in store that go up to an XXL that could work for you.
I only go and look for shirts and crop tops though I found some dresses there that stretch enough to fit my size 20 body, but it truly all came down to body shape and where I carry most of my weight which is in my hips and thighs.
Day four we went home and I had a horrible airport outfit since I literally forgot to pack one, so I was in a granny night gown that was the least sleepy, and a pair of stacked leggings that I had brought along just in case I got cold or needed extra clothes, so I hope you enjoyed and have some Inspo for your vacation outfits when you go!
I’ll talk to you again soon girl.
x. Do you boo.
