Hey Grl Hey!
It’s the middle of hot girl summer but we still have a long way to go sis!
I’ve taken the pledge to wear what I want no matter what other people feel and how they might react to my clothing choices, and if you haven’t done that yet, then missy mamas what are you waiting for?? The world to end? Girl we already in the end of times, May as well wear that t*tty out shirt before it’s too late!
Myself and my beautiful sisters took the Island of Jamaica by storm in April of this year for our 2nd Deltaversary, and since some of them are Type A people, our itinerary called for a red outfit, and me being the fashionista I am, I wanted something very sexy and trendy for our vacay.
I saw a dress on Amazon that I really liked but 1 they did not have my size! And 2 I wasn’t about to pay $35 for a thin piece of two scraps of fabric that wouldn’t even be red!
So I did what any other creative gal would do and took a trip to my local Joann fabric store to DIY the dress for a mere $10!
Now this was the definition of no sew, because I had high hopes for making that exact dress from Amazon, but knowing my procrastination… yeah that didn’t work out.
So I got even more creative in my mirror, and decided to see if I could tie the fabric in a draping way that would make it look like a skirt but wouldn’t require me to actually sew a skirt.
So I cut a nice sized piece off the top of the fabric for the top—enough to hold a boob in— and then used the rest of the fabric to tie myself a skirt. I literally just took the ends and tied them on my side so I wouldn’t flash anybody but also to give me a sexy little slit in my already short “it’s just fabric” skirt.
This was literally the easiest DIY Dress I have ever done since it was a no-sew, and it fit the bill perfectly for the occasion.
When in doubt, girl go to Joanns or somebody’s fabric store and make something to wear. Don’t keep ordering the same stuff off Amazon that may or may not even fit!
And to be honest, Amazon doesn’t have the best selection for plus size clothes. They have some stuff but they fall into that “Torrid- Look” category and you really have to search for actual good outfits.
I hope you enjoyed, and if you want a tutorial, leave me a comment and I’ll make a tiktok on it!
Be You Boo. x.
